How are my vertical meters calculated?

Modified on Fri, 6 Nov at 11:32 AM

Your vertical meters are calculated from the lift rides on your ski day. Skiline takes into account the elevation differences of the lifts processed.

  1. When you pass through a turnstile with a card reader, the ski resort records your lift ride along with the time.
  2. Skiline retrieves this raw data from the ski resort using your ski pass number.
  3. Since not every lift has a card reader, Skiline automatically adds missing lift rides. For more information, see the article “Why are lifts sometimes listed in my Skiline that I didn’t use?”.
  4. Based on the list of lift rides, Skiline calculates your vertical meters, duration and distances, and creates the Skiline graphic.

The ski resort selected when you add your ski pass determines which lifts are processed.

You can find your figures in the app under Feed > Ski days: Tap the ski day you want. On the website skiline.cc, click the ski day in the season list. There you can also see the Skiline chart with the lifts and vertical meters.
