Why does the Skiline app need access to location, camera, and NFC?

Modified on Sat, 7 Nov at 4:33 PM

The Skiline app only asks for the permissions it needs for individual features. You can change them at any time in your smartphone’s settings.

  • Location: shows ski resorts near you (“Find ski resorts near you”) and is used for Adventures.
  • Camera: for your profile picture (“Take a photo with the camera”).
  • NFC / nearby devices: to scan your ski pass using NFC instead of typing in the number (only on smartphones with NFC).
  • Notifications: for push notifications from the app.

How to change permissions: In the app, tap Settings → Permissions at the bottom. Your smartphone’s app settings will open. There, under Permissions, you can allow or revoke individual permissions. Without a permission, only the corresponding feature won’t work. For example, you can type in your ski pass number instead of scanning it.

Web: Skiline on skiline.cc in a browser doesn’t need any of these permissions.
